Tasty Tuesday

Just got home from saying goodbye to the Waugh Family :(  The kids played while Sara and I chatted and when we had to leave, Paige wouldn't give hugs.  But I think Sara got a big hug out of her and some kisses without her wanting them.  Then Launa and Charley attempted to but she was being a sassy 3 year old.

Tonight was Paige's last night of swim lessons!  I might do them one week in July before we head to Lake of the Ozarks...we will see.  Pretty sure we had an amazing instructor and taught Paige how to do arrow hands, blow bubbles, kick her feet, go under water and swim, black float, and the list goes on!  She did awesome and was so happy to have her teach Paige.

Paige and Brayden wore their floaties when lessons were over to swim more!

Paige had to wear her candy cane suit tonight for her last lesson

Since it is Tasty Tuesday, I need to provide a new recipe.  The one I'm going to provide is something I will put in the crock pot tomorrow morning and enjoy when I get home.  I have never had it, but it sounds good.  I will report back after tomorrow night!

I can't remember name but we will call it.....

Jalapeno Roast

2.5-3.5 Pounds of Chuck Shoulder or Bottom Round Roast
1 can of jalapeno peppers with liquid, about 4 ounces
1 large onion, quartered and thickly sliced
2 cloves garlic; thinly sliced (I will used minced garlic because I don't know how to cut garlic)
1 Teaspoon of salt
1/2 Teaspoon of black pepper
2 Tablespoons of cider vinegar

  1. Place the meat in the slow cookers and add the remaining ingredients.
  2. Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours (oh wow, was not aware it took this long)
  3. Shred and serve with warm tortillas and your favorite fixings

How could I forget Paige's new saying to me tonight.  We were eating steak kabobs and stuffed mushrooms tonight for supper and there were some chips on the counter.  Paige told me that she was going to go get a chip and I said no.  She replied, "WHATEVER mom".  I said excuse me and she goes "WHATEVER mom.  oh boy oh boy...she will learn fast not to say that to me!  Wonder where she picks up on words?

Now that I have blogged, I have done 2 nights!  I'm going to prep my crock pot so tomorrow morning I can just turn it on because I'm usually running late in the morning.
