Whats UP Wednesday

What is going on everyone on this fine beautiful Wednesday?

I'll tell you what is going on with me...came home to Paige sleeping!  It is amazing how much stuff you can get accomplished in like a half hour while your child is sleeping.  I was able to make tater tot casserole, stuffed jalapenos, pick up Paige's room, bathroom, and my room!  I thought I better take advantage of the girl sleeping and get my blog in.

I left you all on a suspense Monday night, I know you are all anxious to find out what we did last night!  Let me tell ya, it was nothing too exciting but it was exciting for us.

Where do I start with our fun night?  First off, I would like to say thanks to Lindsey for making an itinerary for our evening.  I told her we were only going if she did that and stuff to do with Paige.  Lindsey came through on my request and she was successful!  I love having plans and knowing what we are doing.  If you have not guessed what we did yet....we went to the....IOWA STATE FAIR!

First stop was Little Helping Hands on the Farm.  I was amazed by this, and thought they did a great job putting this interactive farm together.  Paige took the bucket when we started but she refused to wear an apron :(

The farm consisted of planting your vegetables in the dirt...

Picking the apples off the tree...

Paige was pretty pumped because she found a "pink" apple on the tree, so of course that was the one she picked and placed in her basket.

There were a few other jobs to do on the farm but I didn't bother to put the pictures up...don't want to bore my fellow followers too much with our fun night!

Paige then got a gas can to fill her tractor up and hauled her basket of goodies...

She then milked "Besie" I think that was her name!

Now this is the part that I think was pretty cool and taught kids something!

All the food/produce that was in the basket, Paige had to sell it at the Farmer's Market...

After selling her goods, she received money for it...

Then with her hard earned $1, she got to pick one item out of the grocery store.  She chose a bomb pop.  But wow, they had some great items in the grocery store.  Just noticed Paige could had bought a loaf of bread!!  That would had come in handy at home.

Of course, we had to go see the John Deere tractors.  HOLD UP....  I would like to say CONGRATS to my niece Blakely for making it in the John Deere 2013 Calender.  Her 1 year old picture was sent to John Deere and they picked her to represent a month in the calender.  I will share the picture sometime. My niece is going to be FAMOUS :)

SPARKLES = PAIGE!
Paige spotted this ice cream from afar and we got our pictures next to it.  Paige wanted to get a picture with Baby Stewart.

Then she finally agreed to take a picture with mommy...

Paige was wound for sound last night!  My dad wanted to listen to some music so we went to Stockmans to get a beer and then sat at the Dinner Bell because Lindsey was swelling up like a balloon!  Lindsey and my dad ordered a sandwich while Paige ran through the Dinner Bell and watched the horses go by.  Notice Paige's scrapes on her nose and lip! I didn't think it was going to look that bad...poor girl!

Mr. Ronald had one more request as we were walking out of the fair, stop at Hairball.  So we did.  Remember, Lindsey is swelled up like a balloon and this wasn't on her itinerary, so we were kind of nervous.  BUT she let us watch the concert for a little bit.  Not too sure who had more fun at it, Paige or mommy?  We probably watched for half hour and the whole time Paige wanted on my shoulders to watch and clapped her hands the whole time.

The poor girl was having so much fun, she was sad when we left.  She asked if we could stay longer to listen to the band.  What a trooper she is.  While walking back to the car, we were able to hear The Band Perry finish their concert followed by fireworks.  Paige gave us a double thumbs up for the evening.

See ya next year Iowa State Fair - it was fun and now I can say I have been once this year and that is good for me.

Well....my casserole is done so that means I better go wake up Paige and eat.  Have a good night everyone!

  1. We loved the farm too - and walking around at the fair is always good for the unborn babies - espc. the FOOD!
